Contributing to the programme

You do not have to wait for Google Summer of Code to take part. You can help shape the project ideas, improve this site and contribute to the participating projects now.

Suggest or improve an idea

Write to gsoc@elixpo.com to suggest a new idea or to improve an existing one, for example a clearer outcome, a missing setup step or a better warm-up task. Name the idea and the codebase, and describe the problem it solves. A new idea, or a change to an idea's size or mentors, needs agreement from both mentors named on it.

GitHub Discussions for GSoC 2027 will open once Google announces the programme dates. Until then, email is the channel for suggestions.

Fix text on this site

Every page on this site is built from Markdown files in the site's content/ folder. The site's source repository will be published on GitHub. Once it is public, you can fix a mistake by opening a pull request against content/. Until then, report the mistake to gsoc@elixpo.com.

Contribute to the codebases

The project ideas belong to five Elixpo codebases, listed on the codebases page with their repositories, setup instructions and contribution guidelines. Small fixes, tests and documentation are welcome at any time. If you plan to apply, the Get involved guide explains how to start.

Rules that apply

  • Follow the Code of Conduct in every Elixpo space.
  • Follow the AI policy: you must understand, test and be able to explain everything you submit, and disclose meaningful use of AI tools.
  • Each repository's own contribution guidelines and licence apply to work in that repository.
